– I Remember –

I remember the drive to your house

The cul-de-sac felt like its own little world

I remember the liquor store we would stop at to get cheap wine

And getting coffee before walking to the dog park

I remember how cold it was that day

I remember how the wind kissed our faces

The way you used to kiss mine

I remember you walking me to my car and kissing me like you weren’t going to see me again

Maybe that’s what you planned

For us to burn out instead of fading away

I wonder if you still think about me
